REVIEW:

The third installment in the Several Journeys series, Chapter 2 has a lot to live up to. Which, it does. Very well. Amazingly well. Apocalypticly well. Well, maybe not, but you get my point.

When we pick up on the story here, Reemus and Liam are trying to escape the Death Slugs and have decided to do something to help defeat the infestation. They decide to talk to the All-Knowing Parasite for answers. Unfortunately, the All-Knowing Parasite is attached to a gigantic worm that eats anything that gets close to it. What a life!

The music is pretty grating, and it makes you want to turn it off for a while. A little less repetitive would be nice, as well as less harsh sounds.

The graphics are as stunning as they were in the first installment. Slightly quirky with a very loose feeling, as well as smooth animation.

The gameplay itself is smooth as well. There isn’t any pixel hunting, and the animations are very responsive.

The speech bubbles could use some work, however. It can get annoying to have to click in the actual bubble to continue. Being able to click anywhere would be nice. The speech animations are repetitive, but since you generally do not waver on the speech, it ties in pretty well.

WALKTHROUGH:

The current installment of Reemus’ Journey takes you to the All-Knowing Parasite. Only it can give you the answers you are looking for. If you can’t get to the parasite,  I have the answers you are looking for.

SPOILER ALERT!! If you do not wish to have the contents of this tutorial shown to you, do not continue.

Scene 1: The Barn

Get Reemus to grab the pitchfork.

Have Liam dive into the barrel, then tip it over so he rolls. Then get the shovel, and climb up to the loft.

Grab the mousetrap!

Reemus, take some gook from the trough and put it on the mousetrap.

Shake the feed bucket. Poor mouse!

Liam, tip the hay onto the slug.

Stab that thing! Quickly, Reemus!

Scene 2: The Campsite

Liam, shake your pole. Some bird splat will do Reemus some good.

Here’s the plan. While Reemus is making a distraction, like struggling at his bonds, tip the bag, Liam!

Move the jar of honey over, so that the beast might step on it.

Reemus! Get punched again.

Let’s gook up one of those darts, shall we?

Lets try and grab for another item with our foot, just to draw his attention.

Nighty night, beasty!

Scene 3: The Entrance

Let’s talk to that nice lookin’ animal there.

Hmm…. what did that bug like? Peppermint leaves? Let’s get one of those!

Let’s make it more tasty with that shaker plant.

Got it! Now lets give it to the feller in the tree.

You butterfingers, Liam! Now we have to get it out!

Pick up one of those purple balls. It might be a good plug for that lung plant.

Let’s pick up the lung plant root and stick it to the end of the tree, shall we?

Reemus’ great strong lungs should do the trick!

Tasty!

Scene 4: The Forest

Uh-Oh! Let’s touch that zappy bug.

We’re free! Wait, where’s Liam?

Look’s like he’s in a pickle too.

Can’t do anything yet, so let’s go explore.

That bird looks like it could use saving.

Let’s squeeze some water onto that zappy bug.

It’s freeeeeeeee!

Let’s go to the right again.

Ooh! Look at that cool plant? Think the beaver creature will like it?

Apparently not. Hey, this pointy stick might come in handy.

Let’s go to the right.

Aww, that poor bug is trying to get water. If only I had something to — oh. wait. Nevermind.

Give the bug it’s fill.

Nothing we can do there. Let’s explore the left again.

Oh no! Now the beaver has been caught and eaten! Good thing there’s this gigantic bone.

That plant thing in the back looks zappy…. if only I could prop it — oh. wait. Nevermind.

Let’s have a bug fly harmlessly past this thing. That weird vine on the tree might work.

While the plant has its mouth open, shove in that bone!

Let’s squirt another bug, shall we?

Yay! We’re all freeeeeeeee!

Scene 5: The Beehive

Let’s take Reemus all the way left to the donut field. Hmm… donuts.

Grab that plant. Looks like antenna to me!

Let’s get a donut on a stick, shall we? Have him grab one nearby.

Let’s go pay the spider a visit.

I wonder if a donut plant grows when replanted? Let’s try it!

Yay! you got your wings, Liam.

Let’s take Liam to the big chip bowl. That is a pretty stupid looking bird, but it looks like he can push stuff.

I wonder if a chain reaction would do the trick…

Let’s pull on those vines until the bulbous ends are lined up with the bird.

Why don’t we have the bird push on them?

You’re orange, Liam!

How about you run along to those giant blueberry plants?

Those dual thorns look like a good shield. Stand behind them, Liam.

Hey, Reemus. Mind hitting one of those blueberries?

You look like a true bee, Liam. Let’s go talk to that bee again.

Scene 6: The Smoker

Let’s dive into that honey cave, shall we?

Look! The honey is right over there.

Aww, man! The other blue guy is blocking your path. Help, Reemus?

Ok, Liam. I’ll help you out. Hey, look! Weed!

That glass mushroom looks like a good spot to store some.

That weird thing stuck to the tree back there looks like it can direct light pretty well…

Ooh, you can turn it. Let’s try to direct it onto the glass mushroom.

No go. Looks like we’re gonna need to use all of them.

Wow. I never knew that those mushrooms could get so hot.

Liam, the blue guy needs a way to get at that weed. Care to help?

I wonder if this railing will come off. Yes! it does.

I wonder if unhooking the glass root will allow the smoke to go down.

So, we’re free to pass, but how do we get the honey up?

Reemus, try pulling up the bones, and hooking that hollow vine around it.

Liam, pull down the bone a couple of times. That should cut the vine.

Hey! Reemus! Could you feed the tube down here? Thanks.

Scene 7: The Parasite

Double hero ending:

While Liam is taking care of the worm, I’m going to block this hole….. with what?

These pineapple looking plants look good.

Chuck it at the entrance!

Let’s hide in that frog.

Those spiky plants look deadly.

Go get ‘em Liam!

Let’s explore the cave a bit.

That animal looks like he knows where he’s going. I’m gonna follow it.

Poor guy. Let’s go take care of that dead one.

Some honey in it’s mouth should do the trick.

Now let’s bring it to the worm!

Aww man! That stupid bird took it!

The goo from that cactus behind you looks fireproof. It might come in handy.

A fire bug might distract that bird! There’s one on the cactus to the left.

Get it. If we chuck it at the bird he might drop it.

Yay! We got the corpse again. Let’s present it to the worm.

How about we go talk to that parasite.

You win!

Double coward ending:

While Liam is talking to the parasite, I’m gonna hang out in this turtle.

It sure is dark in here. Let’s go figure out where the worm is.

There he is. Maybe I can give him the honey using something back there…

Oh no! The beasty!

Ah, heck with it, let’s leave.

Lucky coward ending:

While Liam is talking to the parasite, I’m gonna hang out in this turtle.

It sure is dark in here. Let’s go figure out where the worm is.

There he is. Maybe I can give him the honey using something back there…

Oh no! The beasty!

Let’s go back to the worm! It might be able to do something!

You win, you lucky cowards!
