Harrison Ford screws well dressed ducks and killer badgers with legal ramifications
Recently, I was able to convince Jacob Grahn (also known to many as Jiggmin or that ‘Platform Racing Guy’) to a super secretive interview. Lies and boasting aside, I sat down, put my thinking cap on, which is actually a bizarre German hat I bought while at a German beer festival, and wrote down some questions for Jiggmin whom I will now refer to as Jiggs.
After a bottle of scotch, a chocolate bunny, a few chapters of Mein Kampf, a toasted sandwich and a deep meaningful crying session, I deliver you the goods:
iagent:Firstly thank you for taking time out of your busy life, living, to be interviewed by a bunch of tards here at CGI. Let me begin by saying that you are quite the prolific developer. By the looks of things you have made a number of games in past 3 years, how long does the development process last?
Jiggs: It can take anywhere from one day (Orbit) to six months (Platform Racing 2).
iagent: Have you ever had those moments where its 2am and you end up screaming at the computer because a piece of code doesn’t work?
Jiggs: I’m usually pretty patient and methodical about fixing code, but there is something about having a piece of code that is seemingly defying the rules of reality that can push me past the edge. I don’t scream so much as I just talk viciously in a shrill voice of pure rage while flapping my arms about in disbelief.
iagent: Ever lost your work to strange occurrences say, fire, wild bears or an aggressive pantomime horse?
Jiggs: Once, I decided to back up a bunch of data. I put it all into this one giant folder that could be easily transferred, since that seemed like a pretty smart idea. My computer proceeded to shut down without warning, and everything in that giant folder was gone after I restarted it. Lesson learned: Don’t try to back up your files.
iagent: Your game Platform Racing 2 is one of the most popular games on Kongregate with over 7 million plays. You also won a Mochi award recently. How does it feel to find that you are now a very popular flash developer?
Jiggs: It doesn’t feel any different really. I’m still doing the same thing as ever.
iagent: You have a new game out now called Effing Hail. This is quite an unusual kind of game, can you please tell our readers a little bit about it?
Jiggs: I teamed up with an artist named Greg Wohlwend with the goal of making one game a day for an entire month. We didn’t succeed, since that idea was apparently nuts. We did manage to finish four and a half games, though, one of which was Effing Hail. (Effing is the only one we’ve publicly released so far). The title is the first thing we came up with, and then the rest of the game formed around that.

LOL they don't have insurance
Considering Jiggmin didn’t really tell you anything about the game I will fill in here. Basically, Effing Hail grants you control of a powerful hail storm. In it you use your cursor to create and updraft to grow your hail into very large chunks and reek havoc below. You have a set amount of time to complete your goal, you will find yourself having to rip down skyscrapers or kill of the local population with large hunks of ice. Nice!
iagent: What inspires you when creating your games? Do you draw on anything in particular?
Jiggs: Not really. I don’t know where my ideas come from. I do tend to get a lot of ideas in the shower, whatever that means.
iagent:I must say you have made some very interesting, very different games. I personally like such games as ‘Game of Disorientation’, which is like many of my weekends, ‘Cooties’, beating the ugly girls with a stick and of course Platform Racing 2, dealing with the crude grammar skills of 12 year olds who quite simply run rings around you. What is currently in development at the moment?
Jiggs:Right now I’m not working on a game exactly. I’m working on a multiplayer server for flash games called Blossom Server , It’ll be full of free open source goodness.
Platform Racing 2
iagent: Can we expect a Platform Racing 3 any time soon?
Jiggs: I keep telling people I’ll have it out by the end of the year, but I dunno if that is actually realistic. I don’t really have a good grasp on this “time” thing.
iagent: Can we expect to see a game that contains killer badgers? Well dressed ducks or Harrison Ford? (screw the possible legal ramifications)
Jiggs: Perhaps I’ll make a game where Harrison Ford screws well dressed ducks and killer badgers with legal ramifications.
iagent: What games are you currently playing at the moment? Anything really gets your attention?
Jiggs: I have a rented copy of Dead Space, but I’m not that into it. The more I make games, the less I feel like playing them…
iagent: What games are you looking forward to in the coming months (Console, PC, Mobile, Flash Anything really)?
Jiggs: Mmmmm whatever the next episode of Half Life is. I wait in anticipation to see if they’ll bring in the portal gun. I can just imagine dropping some baddie into an infinite loop of doom and then spitting them out into a solid wall.
iagent: Thanks for giving up your time to talk with us. Before you go, please tell us what is your favourite beer at the moment?
Jiggs: I’m a fan of samuel adams summer ale
Well there you have it, perhaps the most unusual game developer interview I have conducted. That said you will be seeing a lot from Jiggmin in the future, while he is currently tinkering around Blossom Server it will be very interesting what he and his fellow developing brain trust will make out of this service. Being tight lipped about Platform Racing 3, I can only assume that PR3 will be a great advertisement for Blossom Server and that we will perhaps be seeing both in a similar time frame. In meantime I will have to brush up my PR2 skills.

I would like to share my secret ‘Jiggs’ can be a screw uo the ass when you complain on his site he never ‘gets back to you’
He’s busy, motherfucker!
Leave Jiggs alone, you just wait… Harrison Ford having an orgy with animals will be the best game ever, with multiplayer!
Mmmmm…..gotta get me some sweet 4 player orgiastic Indy action as soon as possible. Say goodbye to the Han Solo, and hello to some freaky animal fun.
….with legal ramifications of course.
Genius. Great interview!
If you like jiggmin or any of jiggmins games than you should sign up at Jiggmin’s village. Just go to jiggmin.com an you’ll find there. It is the best website EVAH!!!!! You can meat alot of people and possibly even jiggmin.
Do you mean you get to hit a lot of people with big pieces of meat? If I can wield a vorpal bacon slice it would be epic!
My god, (his name is Timmy, he lives in my attic) that was awesome, I think we should make a habit of this, not only for high-end developers but also the up-and-coming ones.
Great interview.
PlatformRacing2 will probably be really popular when it comes out.
