Why are fighting games are always so repetitive? Well, you fight with no real reason (there are always exceptions to the rule, but just a few), but learning and using different moves and multiplayer add a lot of fun to the game. I can waste four hours fighting with my friends or sister (she rocks in mortal combat) without getting bored, a great achievement . I had a lot of fun with Street Fighter 2, Mortal Combat and Tekken, even if they don’t have a real story (and if they have one it’s just a tournament when the hero joins a competition to defeat the very very bad guy and always follows the same cliche) they are always addictive. Adult swim published, a few weeks ago, a fighting game named Death Vegas. The name already tells you that this game is not just about fighting, and is very different from that stupid game, Bible Fight (play it and you will agree with me).
Gameplay is actually a lot of fun. It’s a unique hit&block fighting system: if the enemy attack downwards, you block downward; upwards, upward etc. So technically if you can block every incoming attack the fight will never end. For the CPU, that loves to block, there is a diamond shaped gauge between the life bars that fills with every blocked attack. Once at near full every subsequent attack comes faster to the point that neither CPU or you can block them. If this still sounds boring, well, there are nine characters with unique attacks and special moves that include unblockables attacks , tasers , deflect , healing, etc… just to mention a few! The combo system is based on stars that you obtain by hitting or blocking, making attacks stronger (but you can memorize and block with ease).
Death Vegas’ formula is different from normal fighting games: it actually has a real story! It is a film-noir story- in the beginning you’re only a guy in a police station who meets a mysterious stranger that offers to tell what he knows for avoiding a death sentence. The plot is at first glance hard to understand, but you will find out that every playable and unplayable character has his own role in the plot. The mystery element will keep you playing for about an hour. What is happening? Who has been killed? By who? And in the end, when everything is clear you will ask yourself: Why didn’t I think of that?
Developers put a lot of effort into a characters design, but some characters look really stupid, such as Lourdes or Duff, and Joshua resembles Bruce Lee or that guy from kung fu hustle. The music is fun but nothing special, just to stop you from getting bored if the fight lasts too long.

Deja Vu?
Just play one or two chapters per day: there is always a world outside that needs to be saved by collecting bottles, separating garbage, and going back home to sleep! Oh, and don´t get angry because your savefile is lost, to load a game just finish the tutorial, go back to menu and select any chapter.
