I’m intrigued to see what you’ve got at number 1…….in all honesty I probs would have put Condemned or Eternal Darkness, that was a Gamecube gem and I’d defs put it above Silent Hill.
Dead Space had its fair share of cheap shrieks as did Manhunt. Left4Dead actually makes me feel more uneasy than Doom 3 ever did though. Alone In The Dark or Doom 3 would probs make no. 6…..oooooh and I’m completely forgetting System Shock 2!!!
I may have make a top five of my own
1. Eternal Darkness
2. Condemned
3. F.E.A.R.
4. System Shock 2
5. Alone in the Dark
Honourable mentions to Bioshock, Dead Space, Res Evil series, Doom 3, Left4Dead, Silent Hill series, Dino Crisis
….and I wish I’d played one or two of the Fatal Frame games, but I haven’t so they can’t make my list
It defo needs to be played multiplayer styley. Organising four characters all at once gets very confusing indeed.
Checked it out at a mate’s….dunno if it’s worth the price though tbh. I reckon there are better things to spend 800 MP on……Commander’s Challenge for one.
Ah beating the shit out of the Hoff has never been more fun…or risk free. I agree totally with the review, a quality little game for a spare hour or two.
At least Bring Down the Sky had a decent plot…..ish
Yeah….I won’t be buying this. I’m just not enough of an achievement whore for that…..not yet anyway. Not that I’m saying ruthless, economically backward achievement accumulation is a bad thing per se……
Let us not forget the almighty Wii….whose adverts now consist of testimonials from increasingly aged members of the public gushing over how they’ve never even considered anything like it before.
I loathe Nintendo. Once I quivered in fanboy delight at the very hint of a Mario release, now laziness and a hardware gimmick have created The Best Marketing Ploy in History. Project Natal and the Sony Eye Toy haven’t got a hope in hell really. Ninty said they’d be the second console in every home….and they were right.
Nintendo are responsible for the greatest betrayal to their hardcore fanbase since George Lucas decided to make a bunch of prequels.
I really liked this movie when I first saw it and I actually bought it on DVD. But, unlike the other movies in my collection that I’ve seen countless numbers of times, I’ve only rewatched ND twice. It’s not that I don’t like it, because I do, but neither do I particularly want to watch it very much.
Man I love Outrun. Shame about the lazy port though.
Guess I’ll just have to swing by and play it at yours BC
I hate the fact that so many developers are getting lazy. Nintendo is possibly the worst of the bunch. Having brought out a console that really is not as great as all the initial hype suggested their game releases have been relatively shoddy, uninspiring and one-dimensional with all of the emphasis mainly on the rapidly-growing-more-unexciting-by-the-minute hardware. This makes me cross.
Don’t pay money to see this please because you’ll just encourage Frank ‘Pass-me-a-glossy-picture-of-Eva-Mendes-so-I-can-crack-one-out’ Miller in his directing pursuits.
Frank you are a writer, a visionary, and an artist. But you know fuck-all about movie making. Get Rodriguez to do it next time.
If he’s covered in glue and manages to pick things up while rolling, you’ve basically got a real-life version of Katamari.
….actually that could be really fun. Feed a large rotund man some drugs, cover him in glue, push him around and see how much crap you can pick up. I wonder if that’s how those crazy Japanese came up with the idea for this game.
….I went and cried. It was too glossy and shiny and BORING! And the live audience was missing. It was all very quiet. I don’t particularly like laugh tracks, but Red Dwarf always used to filmed in front of a live audience. The laughter you’d hear would be real laughter. Without it not only is distracting working out ‘what’s different’ but it makes the bad moments stand out. Bad times.
Halloween Special: The 5 Scariest Games...EVER.

Turtles in Time: Reshelled (Summer of Arcade XBLA Review)
August 13th, 2009 at 1:55 amAwesome review. I can’t say that this game filled me with anticipation. At all.
But really?……Worse voice acting than Fable II even? I would never have thought it possible.
Napoleon Dynamite
April 25th, 2009 at 4:03 amI really liked this movie when I first saw it and I actually bought it on DVD. But, unlike the other movies in my collection that I’ve seen countless numbers of times, I’ve only rewatched ND twice. It’s not that I don’t like it, because I do, but neither do I particularly want to watch it very much.
The whole situation is a little bit odd.
Outrun Online Arcade (XBLA/PSN review)
April 25th, 2009 at 3:57 amMan I love Outrun. Shame about the lazy port though.

I call this laziness EA Syndrome.
Resident Evil- Apocalypse
April 21st, 2009 at 4:28 amIt could have been worse….it could have been directed by Uwe Boll.
It is chronically bad already though.
Space Mutants from Space
April 21st, 2009 at 4:25 amThis is pretty Atomic Tank-esque….but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
Mmmm….Heidi Klum……Seal is a lucky man.
The Spirit

April 16th, 2009 at 7:04 amI have only walked out of three movies my whole life so far…
…this was one of them. I don’t regret it at all.
An Interview with Jiggmin
April 16th, 2009 at 4:49 amMmmmm…..gotta get me some sweet 4 player orgiastic Indy action as soon as possible. Say goodbye to the Han Solo, and hello to some freaky animal fun.
….with legal ramifications of course.
Genius. Great interview!

My dissertation is so totally screwed now!
Red Dwarf: Back to Earth (2009 Easter Special)
April 13th, 2009 at 4:32 amYeah I stopped watching after the first episode….
….I went and cried. It was too glossy and shiny and BORING! And the live audience was missing. It was all very quiet. Death Vs Monstars
April 11th, 2009 at 2:43 amYeah. I may have given up on this after 5 mins and toddled off to play GemCraft. I agree with Arrchchef….the control scheme is horrible. Shame.
